Dr Annie (Suk Yi) Chu is a Specialist in both Pain Medicine and Anaesthetics.  With more than 16 years of experience practicing in the field pain of pain management, Dr Chu is considered a leader in this field of medicine, where she now practices full-time at Pain Specialists Australia.  She graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and trained in Clinical Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in Hong Kong before becoming a Fellow of both the Faculty of Pain Medicine and Faculty of Anaesthesiologists in Hong Kong in 2015 and 2005 respectively.  She also became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2006.

Dr Chu assesses the patient with chronic pain as a whole and considers both personal and social aspects when planning a pain management treatment plan of action. Each pain management treatment plan of action is unique and personalised to the patient and even considers the family, where relevant.  She utilises a multidisciplinary and multimodal approach in applying pain therapies. 

Dr Chu has clinical interests and additional expertise in interventional pain techniques, cancer pain management, regional anaesthesia blocks and ultrasound-guided techniques.  She is also an educator and trainer in the Essential Pain Management Course designed for better promotion of pain management for frontline health professionals.
