Dr Zaid Ardalan

Dr. Zaid Ardalan is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist.He performs various procedures including intestinal ultrasound, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy. His clinical work emphasizes patient-centered care and precision in both gastroenterology and hepatology

Dr. Ardalan completed his physician and gastroenterology training in Melbourne, followed by two clinical fellowships in inflammatory bowel disease at Oxford and hepatology at the Austin Hospital. He earned his PhD from The Alfred Hospital and Monash University, where he focused on improving diagnostics and understanding the impact of diet on inflammatory bowel disease outcomes. His research has been presented at both national and international conferences.

Currently, Dr. Ardalan also serves as an adjunct clinical researcher at Monash University. His research interests include advancements in ileoanal pouch management, checkpoint inhibitor colitis in cancer patients, and the integration of artificial intelligence in medical practices, particularly AI-enhanced intestinal ultrasound. He is based at The Alfred and Royal Melbourne Hospital and consults in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinic, the ileoanal pouch clinic and checkpoint inhibitor clinic.
